Description
Sixth plate tintype of a grizzled, double-armed Union horse soldier, holding what appears to be an M1851 Colt Navy across his chest with one hand while the other grips a sword. He wears headgear with a crossed saber insignia (for cavalry) affixed to the front. Contrast, clarity, and condition are all excellent in this portrait, which would have a place in any fine historic photography collection.
Image is housed in a full leatherette case.
