[Dealer's Lot] Nine Signed Items by Heads of State/Politicians
A collection of nine signed items by various international Heads of State and politicians. Ranging from signed documents and letters to photographs and first day covers. Most of the documents come with a COA from R&R Enterprises Autograph Auctions. The items have varying degrees of wear, soiling, toning, etc. All with bold signatures. Please refer to the photographs for further condition information. Includes the following:
1. Ludwig I Signed Document. 1p, measuring 4.75" x 3.75", No place, dated June 17, 1839. Signed "Ludwig" at the lower margin. Written in German - untranslated. Likely clipped from a larger document.
2. Vaclav Havel Signed Photograph. Measuring 7" x 5", No place, Ca. 1999. A black and white photograph of Havel walking with a group, signed in green felt tip, with two additional unidentified signatures.
3. George Kennan Typed Letter Signed. 1p, measuring 8.5" x 11", Princeton, NJ, dated November 9, 1967. Addressed to Professor Carlton Wells regarding his leaving the Foreign Service due to Joseph McCarthy.
4. Willy Brandt Signed Photograph. Measuring 7" x 9.25", No place, undated. Signed "Willy Brandt."
5. Willy Brandt Typed Letter Signed. 1p, measuring 8.25" x 11.5", Berlin, dated May 16, 1963. Signed "Willy Brandt" and addressed to Leonard Fulton on "How can the individual citizen work concretely for peace…"
6. Ludwig II Signed Document. 1p, measuring 8.25" x 13.5", Berg Castle, dated May 20, 1866. A military commission signed "Ludwig".
7. Josip Broz Tito Signed Photograph. Measuring 5.5" x 7", No place, undated. A vintage matte-finish photograph signed in fountain pen as President of Yugoslavia.
8. Desmund Tutu Signed Photograph. Measuring 5" x 7", No place, dated March 14, 1986. A black and white image of Tutu signed and inscribed in black ink.
9. Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy and Jean Kennedy Smith Signed First Day Cover. Measuring 6.5" x 3.5", Boston, dated May 29, 1964.
