Leon Guerin was a 19th-century French author best-known for his naval and navigational histories. One of his best works was his 1851 French Maritime History – a complete history of sea battles, coastal cities and provinces, harbors, and general maritime history since the foundation of Marseille in 600BC. This set of six tomes not only makes a beautiful display but contains account of some of the earliest known Greek and Roman sea battles including those of Julius Caesar and Alexander the Great!
