Ancient Egyptian Large Bronze Osiris 26th-30th Dynasty, ca. 664-342 B.C. Size 13 3/8 inches high, 3 3/8 inches wide base. + mount. Large and fine cast bronze Osiris mummiform figure, the principal afterworld deity clad in the crown of Upper Egypt having a central ureaus serpent, wearing the aegis collar, the ceremonial beard of royalty and holding the flail and wa scepter, symbols of authority. Beautifully rendered facial features, eyes and brows originally had insets. Standing on an integral rectangular platform base. Old custom lucite block base. cond.
