BRASS REINDEER HEAD / STAG FIGURAL SEWING CLAMP WITH PINCUSHION, depicting a reindeer head/stag with large horned rack, rack with spring-construction to the mouth for holding fabric, figures base topped with a large pincushion holder with light engraving of a flowing sea serpent, fitted with a red tomato-form fabric covered cushion, holder, interior or holder with inscribed figures surrounding the nut, simple curved C-form table clamp supporting the figure with a baluster-form post connector. Third quarter 19th century. 6 1/4" HOA.
Provenance: The 40-year collection of Lyle and Dennis Drier, Oconomowoc, WI.

Condition

Very good overall condition, expected wear, upper clamp jaw with a light as-made separation to the interior, pin cushion fabric with fading and some deterioration.
