SIGNED CH. W. BONTGEN & CO. STEEL AND IRON REINDEER HEAD / STAG FIGURAL SEWING CLAMP WITH WINDER, depicting a reindeer head/stag with large horned rack, rack with spring-construction to the mouth for holding fabric, lower figures base fitted with a winder, lower disc platform impressed "CH. W. BONTGEN / NEWARK N.J.", simple C-form table clamp with light notch cutting and supporting the figure with a baluster-form post connector, nut with a stylized Lyre-form handle. Mid 19th century. 6 7/8" HOA.
