VIRGINIA AND OTHER COIN SILVER SPOONS, LOT OF 13, comprising a set of two teaspoons and a mustard ladle by Young & Bockius of Martinsburg, Virginia (now West Virginia) (active c. 1798), a pair of teaspoons by R.H.L. Villard of Washington (Georgetown), DC (active 1833-1835), a set of six teaspoons by Jehu Scott of Prince Edward Co., VA (active 1799-1800), Charlotte Co., VA (active 1800-1801), Hicksford, VA (active 1802-1806), and Raleigh, NC (active 1806-1819), a teaspoon with shell tip by David B. Nichols of Savannah, GA (active 1815-1839; 1843-1855) and Connecticut, and a tablespoon by Thomas Robinson Jamison Ayres of Danville, KY (active 1823-1857; 1861-1864) and Keokuk, IA (active 1864-1878), most with personalized engravings to handles. Each marked. Total weight: 7.335 ozt. Late 18th/19th century. 5 1/8" to 9" L.
Condition
Most in good to very good overall condition with some wear, surface scratches, and other imperfections including bending, dents, nicks, and/or worn bowl tips; one Scott teaspoon with a split to bowl.
