Late 19th century. Novelty two-tone pencil made in the form of an owl sitting on a perch, with red glass eyes and attached suspension ring. Metal not tested, possibly sterling and low karat gold. Stamped "Pat. March.21.71" and "W.S. Hicks". Approx. 2.25" open, 1.25" closed, 6gr. Overall condition good, small dents to top cylinder.
