Early Church & Boston Fire Department History 1781 / 1786 Document for services. This scarce document is for payment to Samuel Emmons. He made rope lines for both the Old North Church and Old South Church Town clocks and made White Rope for Captain Cushing to be used on Fire Engines Number 1, 3, and 4. Which was likely services for the Assistant Fire Society in Boston who had those engines. No.1 was named "Old North" located on Middle St. No.2 was named "Congress" located on North St. and No.3 was named "Washington" Measures 7-1/4" x 6"
