Early to Mid 19th Century Navy Officer Chest I'D to Zach Holland who served in the Navy from 1827 - 1848. Affixed to the front of chest is a 3" x 2-3/8" copper engraved plate "Z Holland US Navy" Holland served on the Schooner Experiment in 1835 and assigned to Survey of the coast by 1836. In 1838 he was promoted Lieutenant. The chest retains the original Brass Latch, Oil Cloth cover, and Orange paint interior. Padded cloth still present on all four sides of the interior. Missing interior padded bottom board. Measures 19" x 19" x 18" high
