Description
Carved wood figure of a man with lion snout, curved ram's horns, and long feline tail. Appears to have originally been holding something, likely a sword and shield. Traces of gesso and original dark painted surface. Possibly a demonic figure as part of a church tableau. Losses to feet, some age cracks, surface wear. With metal gallery stand. Approx. 16 1/2" H. Provenance: Estate of Cayce Odom of Charlottesville, VA.
