Europe, Late Bronze to Early Iron Age, Italic (?) 1000-880 B.C..Bronze. L. 10.5 cm.The ornament was made by twisting round wire very precisely to form two even spirals with a varying number of turns. The central section is shaped as an arch. An ink inscription on the eyelet: "984 A AEE". Intact. Decorative element from a fibula or other clothing ornament.Formerly priv. coll. Basel, 1990s.
