1991 Fender Custom Shop Jimi Hendrix Stratocaster. SERIAL NUMBER: V057532. COLOR: Olympic White Nitrocellulose Finish. WEIGHT: 8lbs. 1.6 ounces (3kg/680g). This is a very rare guitar. Based on the Certificate of Authenticity, Custom Shop stampings, and decal, the collector believes this guitar is a one-off Fender Custom Shop Jimi Hendrix Stratocaster manufactured in 1991. This was 6 years before the Hendrix signature Stratocaster was introduced in 1997. This guitar is in excellent vintage condition and 100% original, no modifications. No visible signs of body or neck checking. The Olympic White Nitro finish has started to darken to a yellowish tint. All metal hardware displays a light patina. Some pick marks on the lower side of the pickguard, and some very light buckle marks on the back of the body. One pot code is stamped 1379104, one is stamped 1379109 and the third is not visible due to solder, 5-way switch. Neck pickup has a reading of 6.03k, middle pickup reading is 6.29k and the bridge pickup reads a strong 7.36k. Notice how the Custom Shop painted the electronics cavity black to give the guitar more shielding. Fender Custom Shop stamp logo is in the neck cavity. The lefty neck is incredible. This neck was made by Master Neck Builder Herb Gastelum. The neck was made with a satin finish, decal is above the finish. Neck radius is 9.5, fat and beefy U shape profile. The vintage style frets have minimal wear, plenty of life left. Tuners and string tree have very light patina. Custom Shop decal is under the finish on the back of the headstock. H. GASTELUM is stamped at the butt along with Custom Shop Fender U.S.A. Logo. Neck is dated 11-11-91. Included with this guitar is the Certificate of Authenticity signed by Custom Shop Founder John Page and dated 11-22-91, original tweed case in excellent condition with keys, ashtray bridge cover, tremolo arm, spring envelope with 2 springs, guitar strap and cable.
