From Southern Italy, ca. 350 - 300 BC. Terracotta bulbous-bodied pouring jug with flat, wide rimmed mouth and high strap handle. Buff ground with painted red-brown bands. 6-1/4"H.
Part of a 209 piece collection of ancient pottery featured in the book, "The Farwell Collection" published in 1953 by Franklin P. Johnson, University of Chicago art historian and archaeologist.
Provenance: Ex-Byron Farwell Collection.
