American Aesthetic Movement Cherry and Walnut Fireplace Surround

fourth quarter 19th century, probably Philadelphia, the projecting mantel over a frieze with burlwood panels flanking a floral- and leaf-carved panel, the legs each with a pair of fluted columns with carved capitals beneath inlaid banding.
firebox opening h. 36-3/4", w. 42", overall h. 49-3/4", w. 70", d. 14"

Condition

**In good "as found" condition. Minor dings to the surface from age and use. The top of the deck has a shadow imprint where a mirror once sat. Good color and overall patina.
