Northwestern Europe, England, ca. 16th to 18th centuries CE. A collection of 3 silver AR coins from England. The first is a 1709 CE AR half-crown of Queen Anne (1665 to 1714 CE). Obverse: Draped bust of Queen Anne left, legend around. Reverse: Crowned cruciform shields with central Garter star, divided date above, legend around. The next is a 1689 CE William III and Mary II AR half-crown. Obverse: Busts of William and Mary to right. Reverse: first crowned quartered shield of arms with an escutcheon of the Lion of Nassau, caul and interior frosted with pearls on crown band, date either side of crown. The last is a 1562 CE milled and Tower of London minted Elizabeth I AR sixpence. Obverse: Crowned bust of Elizabeth to left, rose to right. Reverse: Coat-of-arms over long cross fourchee. Size (Elizabeth sixpence): 1" Diameter (2.5 cm); silver quality: 93.9%; weight: 2.8 grams; (William & Mary half-crown): 1.28" Diameter (3.3 cm); silver quality: 95.2%; weight: 14.4 grams; (Anne half-crown): 1.29" Diameter (3.3 cm); silver quality: 94.4%; weight: 14.8 grams.
