Description
1. Queen Anne (1707-1714). Half Crown, 1708, Silver coin, 21 mm. Obverse-normal draped bust of Queen Anne left, legend around with an E* below. Latin legend; Anne by the Grace of God. Reverse-crowned cruciform shields around central Garter star, divided date above, legend around in Latin; Queen of Great Britain France and Ireland. Minted in Edinburgh.
2. 1 Groat - shilling coin of Queen Elizabeth I, facing left and worn profile to oblivion, 2nd issue, 1560-1561, 23 mm. Obverse-crowned bust of Queen Elizabeth I facing left, legend around, mint mark above. House of Tudor (1485-1603), Elizabeth I (1558-1603), Second Issue (1560-61). Cross Crosslet, "ET instead of "Z". Latin in legend; "Elizabeth by the Grace of God Queen of England France and Ireland" and "I have made God my helper".
3. James I silver shilling, 29 mm, 4th bust, Obverse-crowned bust of King James I right within beaded inner circle, denomination behind, legend around, in Latin. Reverse-quartered shield of arms within beaded inner circle, legend with Latin. House of Stuart (1603-49), James I (1603-25), escallop coinage (1606-7), fourth bust, silver shilling.
4. George III (1760-1820), silver threepence, 1763, 17 mm. Obverse
Young laureate and draped bust of King George III right, legend around with Latin. Reverse-central denomination below crown dividing date, legend around with Latin. From the collection of Juliane and Philip Lynch, Shaker Heights, Ohio.Condition: fair, as is.
