Art Deco opalescent moulded glass figure by Etling France, depicting the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

The pieces made by Etling are similar in style to other French glassmakers such as Lalique and Sabino. Edmon Etling played an important role in the development of the Art Deco style as he worked with notable decorative arts designers during the 1920s and 1930s. On a technical level, Etling was at the forefront from the beginning of the Art Deco period. He also had his own metal foundry, from where he could have certain glass designs combined with metal.
