Description
North America, Northwestern United States, Alaska, St. Lawrence Island, ca. 15th century or earlier CE. A walrus ivory tusk that is a beautiful creamy brown and hue with a white interior. The flat face of cementum and dentine has been polished on one end to show off the inner layers and rings of the tusk. The modified canines or tusks of walrus are extraordinary to behold and prized material for crafting tools, jewelry, and other items. Size: 2" L x 1.25" W x 2.5" H (5.1 cm x 3.2 cm x 6.4 cm)
This is an ESA antique exempt piece of ivory and cannot be sold internationally or to anyone residing in the states of California, Hawaii, Illinois, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, and Washington. We guarantee that the piece is over 100 years old.
