Description
The registers from the "700" class series are in many respects identical to those of the "300 class" cast brass registers from the previous decade. This example, model "717 G (the letter "G" referring to the inclusion of the autographic printer on the right side) was constructed of painted wood-grained sheet metal in 1928 and was originally sold to L. Lungen Ford in Ontario, as noted on the factory build sheet pasted to the underside of the cash drawer. SN 2792223. From the George Loveday Collection. Painted steel. The "amount" keys and price indicator flags, operation of the cash drawer as well as the total adder, customer count and no sale recorders (under the lid) are all in working order. The reset key for the total adder is included but can't reset the adder to zero as the cylinder has seized (a common occurrence). Status of the printer is unknown as it's untested. A piece of the wooden drawer front is missing from the top edge and surface losses exist on the wooden base. Scattered areas of light surface loss and resulting oxidation are evident on the cabinet. A fine spray of white paint droplets exists in a small area on the right side. American. c1930. 17" H x 14.5" W x 16" D. CODE-GEN
