Description
African bell or currency of hand-forged iron made by village blacksmiths of the Tetela of the D.R. Congo and used as currency for buying such items as ivory and even wives. These bells are also found to be used by their neighbors the Jonga. The Bell measures 19.5 x 7 inches and shows plenty of field use and wear. Tetela or Jonga peoples, Congo, central Africa. A metal display stand will be included.
