Description
This lot features a copper inlay European bearded axe head and knife from Mexico with brass wire wrap. First is a unique forged metal axe head, attributed to the early- to mid-1900’s. The bearded head has a clover cut-out along with seven holes in its face. The neck of the head has two copper bands, and the six-sided eye has two brass bands and a threaded pin. The blade is an unusual, very dramatic bearded blade. The axe head measures 5 3/4" x 4 1/2". The next item is a small handmade knife. The blade is stamped "Mexico" on one side and an unreadable stamp on the other. The blade is 4 3/4" long and is well worn. The handle is 3" long wood with a brass wire wrap. Both items have great character from age and use.
