Chinese Qing Dynasty TongZhi Blue and White Porcelain Vase. The porcelain potted in vase shape, thick and tall, globular lower body, straight cylindrical neck, flaring round mouth rim, raised on a short ring foot base with slight concave. Hand painted ornamentations are rendered in clean white base color which contrast against blue color, depicted of lotus flowers blooms interspersed foliage and scrolling interlocking tendril, enclosed with banded with arrays of tropical leaves patterns. A characteristic heaped and piled effect, the under glaze greyish-blue concentrates in certain areas, bubbling through the surface of the glaze and turning a deep blue-black. This inadvertently gave texture, energy, and shading to the design.The Under-base bears a reign mark, a six under glazed blue script characters reign mark. Made in The Years TongZhi Reign Period of The Great Qing Dynasty.
