Description
Antique Amazonian Kichwa Chicha Drinking Bowl Bowl made by the Kichwa people of the Amazon Rainforest in Ecuador in the 1960s. Features geometric shapes and lines, painted on clay from the riverbanks fired in an open fire. Has seeds inside a hollow space in the bottom so the bowl also rattles. These bowls are used for drinking chicha, a fermented beverage made by grinding or chewing corn kernels, and then fermenting the liquid. This is a unique piece, completely handmade so no two will ever be exactly alike. Some paint has chipped off in areas, so see photos for detailed condition. Approximate size: 4.5" x 4.5" x 2" Approximate weight: 0.22
