Period of Manufacture: Late Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) to Early Republic Period (1912-1949)
Weight of Set: 7 pounds, 13 ounces
For your consideration are a set of (2) antique Chinese pewter and brass duck-form lidded serving dishes with inserts. Each server consists of (3) individual pieces - an interior insert, a base and a lid. Each covered dish is intricately engraved and one of the dishes is marked on the underside of its base and on the underside of its insert. Both figural pots are outfitted with decorative brass handles and red coral-colored glass eyes. The marked vessel measures 10"(l) x 7 1/2"(h) x 7"(w) while the unmarked lidded dish measures 11 1/2"(l) x 8"(h) x 7"(w).
Provenance: From the private collection of a retired Army Major General in San Antonio, Texas.
