Doncaster Races Color Print. Race For The Great St. Ledger Stakes, 1836, titled "Approbation - Off in Good Style". Originally painted by James Pollard and engraved by J. Harris. James Pollard (1792-1867) would be well known for his equine scenes as well as his mail coach and fox hunting pieces. Bottom of art is marked "London, Published May 24th, 1837, by Ackerman & Co. 96 Strand". Framed and matted 27" x 37-1/2" overall. Condition: Very good.
