French, second half 19th century. Napoleon III figural parcel gilt bronze inkwell, having a single well with fruit basket lid flanked by double basket-form receptacles, two figures of classical maidens, and on a black Belgium slate base with toupie feet. Unmarked. Approx. h. 9", w. 12", d. 5".

Condition

Mount for basket finial is partially broken; liner is not present; oxidation and wear to metal finished; minor chips to slate base; pen tray is not present.
