Description
Antique German silver cup/pokal gilt in the interior, measures 23 inches tall with cover and victory finial. The pokal is decorated with cartuches showing historical scenes of the Catholics and Protestants Bohemian revolt of the early 1600 scene with Ferdinand II, Holy Roman Emperor, warriors, chiseled with intricate flower decorations grapes and leaves. The top is decorated with scenes Bacchante and finial of the victory. The silver hallmark shows at the base with the maker mark W.P. and on the side top rim. Around the top rim there is a hand engraved inscription in German "Dem Admiral Der Ostsee und Herzog von Mecklenburg-Wallenstein Zum Danke von Ferdinandus Der II Imperator, Anno MDCXXVIII. Wallenstein was rewarded by the emperor for winning the war. Showing some minor damages, weighs 1223 grams.
