Regiment, U.S. Col[ored] Troops. Moderately toned, creasing along old folds. Document embellished with U.S. Eagle vignette. The document gives Alford's birthplace as Putnam Co., South Carolina, age18 years old, as five foot six, black complexion, black eyes, black hair, occupation when enrolled as farmer.
