Item Details
Description
Southeast Asia, Cambodia, Khmer Empire (Angkor culture), ca. 800 to 1300 CE. A pair of delightful miniature ceramic vessels, one glazed with a deep chocolate-brown pigment, the other a creamy white. The brown one has a low foot, a rounded body, and a tiered neck with two loop handles. The white one is globular, standing on a small circular foot, with a small mouth surrounded by a rounded rim. The glaze on each vessel extends across most of the upper body and terminates just above the feet. These forms were likely inspired by trade with China. Size of largest: 1.95" W x 2.8" H (5 cm x 7.1 cm)
