Description
Two stoneware ovoid jugs. The first, probably 3 gallon, with the impressed mark of Stedman Seymour - New Haven and having cobalt blue brushed highlights at handle terminals - several pebble bursts, 2 tight spider hairlines on side, possibly a repair to top of handle (see photo), otherwise good condition - 16"H x 10"W - early 19th century; and the second, 2 gallon with the impressed mark of NORTON & FENTON BENNINGTON VT. - decorated with a large cobalt blue triple flower - extensive crazing giving it an egg-shell appearance, but overall good condition - 13 1/2"H x 11"W - mid 19th century.
