Ancient Egypt, Third Intermediate to Late Dynastic Period, 21st to 31st Dynasty, ca. 1070 to 332 BCE. A beautiful necklace of wearable form constructed from dozens of petite faience beads that are glazed in a variety of polychrome hues. The beads present in tubular and seed-shaped forms, and the singular strands separate into 3 separated strands along the interior of each side. The central faience pendant has incised side walls to create a scalloped presentation as well as 5 petite black eyelets. The terminals are capped with a modern sterling silver loop and bar clasp combo. Size (necklace): 20.6" L (52.3 cm); (central pendant): 0.875" L x 0.7" W (2.2 cm x 1.8 cm); silver quality: 94.7%

Wearable as shown and strung in modern times. Faience beads are ancient; stringing and sterling silver components are modern. Losses to 2 black eyelets on faience pendant as shown. Minor nicks, abrasions, and pitting to some beads, with light fading to glaze pigment, otherwise intact and very good. Nice preservation to glaze pigment on most beads.
