Description
A handsome example of one of the most popular side arms of the Civil War, the M1860 Colt Army revolver. The Colt Army M1860 is a muzzle-loaded cap & ball .44-caliber revolver made by Colt's Manufacturing Company This particular example retains matching serial number xx415 throughout (including its wedge), denoting manufacture in 1862. One of the gun's grips retains a military inspector's cartouche, indicating it was federally issued during the war.
Honest example. The cylinder does not index properly occasionally but works most of the time. Nipples are pretty grizzled. Some cylinder scene is retained. Metal has aged to a soft brown, pleasing patina.
[Civil War, Union, Confederate, Firearm, Revolver, Rifle, Longarm, Colt, Remington, Smith and Wesson, Pistol]
