1870's/1880's cotton red, cinnamon pink, and white pieced stars quilt, all hand pieced and hand quilted, with small diamond pieces measuring 1" per side. The condition is near mint, unwashed, with a couple of spots (one nickel-sized -- see photo, one larger and pale) that should come out in this one's first wash, and no wear. The quilt feels strong and sturdy overall. The quilting is excellent, with quilting around the piecework and in a close diamond designs in the background, all at an even 8-9 stitches to the inch. The back is white, the hand stitched binding is solid red, and the batting is thin.
