This OUTSTANDING cotton 1850's red and white feathered stars quilt is all hand pieced and hand quilted, with tiny 1/2" triangle pieces and a vine border on three sides.
It measures 70" X 78" and is very good condition, with faint surface dirt, the occasional age spot, and no holes or fade.
The hand quilting is exceptional, with close straight line, ripple, grid, lattice, and feathered wreath designs quilted throughout at an even 8-10 stitches to the inch.
The back is white, the hand stitched binding is the same mellowed red used in the interior, and the batting is thin. You can see cotton seed residue inside when you hold the quilt up to the light.
