For your consideration is a rare and early Noritake porcelain lidded inkwell with original insert. This beautiful inkwell is hand-painted and is entirely covered with a panoramic landscape including a large body of water, islands, towering trees and a sky at dusk or dawn. The underside of the inkwell carries the Morimura Brother's 'M in wreath" Nippon mark in green which dates to around 1910.

Provenance: From a San Antonio, Texas, estate.
