A stunning pair of mineral specimens: an agate geode, cut in half, and polished to reveal the crystalline structures and a large piece of amethyst. The amethyst cluster is cut and polished with large knobs of stalactites - tube like formations of agate covered in crystalline structures - here 3 stalactites are cut in cross-sections revealing the interior creamy color banding. The light violet hues of this amethyst are breathtaking, a remarkable work of natural art presented upon a custom stand. The geode was professionally cut in half, both sections preserved, the interiors are polished to reveal the gorgeous gray and lilac banding of the agate that surrounds the vug covered in a brownish-red quartz druse, the layer of crystalline structures that occur naturally within pockets or vugs. Both are professionally cut and prepared. The geode agate interior lip is heavily polished, and the exterior is rough and raw. Amethyst has some light polishing on the exterior peripheries and the stalactite cuts in the center and edge are heavily polished. Gorgeous crystalline structures on both.
