From a very early Rand McNally Indexed atlas comes this striking and colorful double-page map of Idaho. Extremely detailed topographical features provide a wealth of information on this map. “GOLD HILL” and “MINING DISTRICT” and other such intriguing descriptions are placed sporadically around the map with Canyon Identification, Mountains, Rivers and such things as “TABLE GRAZING LAND.” Many small “T’s” are visible throughout the map that may indicate where trails were established, or perhaps where good trapping could be had—at least that’s my guess. Map is in excellent condition with no faults—a wonderful example. The printed colors are even and well registered. (Early McNally maps in color are not as common as other versions). This map is a good example of the high quality of printing McNally maps would become known for during the remainder of the 19th century. 13 x 20
