PROVENANCE:
From the Collections of Franklin Wood (1924-2019) Cartersville, GA. Franklin was born in a small farmhouse near White GA in 1924. After spending his early childhood on the family farm the family moved to the City of Cartersville where he attended school graduating in 1942. Franklin entered the Navy as a cadet aviator. On March 3, 1943, John was commissioned an Ensign and received his Wings of Gold, becoming one of the Navy's youngest naval aviators. In 1947, Franklin was retired from the Navy. He was a civilian flight instructor, supervisor and squadron commander in the Primary Training Squadron Flying Training Air Force. He met his wife Ying Su while she was attending flight training safety courses. Ying Su came from a prominent family in China. Her family blessed her marriage with numerous pieces of porcelains and Jade. The items in this sale are from her collection.

Chinese Qing Dynasty Period Blue & white wrapped Floral Motif porcelain Zun Vase. This porcelain jar has an open mouth with a slightly out-turned lip, archaic elephant head on the shoulder, and the short neck leads to a convex bulging belly with a restrained bottom. The embryo is white and delicate, the glaze is moisturized, the blue and white color is elegant, and the body is painted with flowers blooms, foliage, and the shape is solemn and elegant. This inadvertently gave texture, energy, and shading to the design.

Mark on base, a six under glazed blue seal script characters reign mark, Made In The Years of Qianlong Reign Period of Great Qing Dynasty.
