Item Details
Description
1st item: Russian enameled silver perfume bottle, flattened ovoid form and screw-on top with foliate and star designs in colors of blue, red, green, and white. Russian hallmarks to the base along with the initials ACM and the date 1892. 2 1/8" H. Late 19th century. 2nd item: Russian gilt silver and enamel bud vase or Kiddush cup, with scrolling enamel foliate decoration to the body with beaded rim, knop, and foot ring. No maker's marks found. 5 5/8" H. 3rd-4th items: Pair of Russian gilt silver and enamel salt cellars or master salts having lobed bodies, ruffled rims, and raised foot. Kokoshnik hallmarks and Cyrillic maker's marks to the bases. 1 1/2" H. 5th-7th items: Three (3) Russian gilt silver and enamel demitasse spoons, two with Kokoshnik marks, one unmarked. Ranging in size from 4" L to 4 1/4" L. Late 19th/Early 20th century. 8th item: Russian gilt silver and enamel scoop with maker's marks to the bowl interior and the original paper tag. 3 5/8" L. 9th-14th items: Set of six (6) Norwegian cobalt enamel and gilt silver demitasse spoons, two stamped 930S and with hallmark for Marius Hammer (1847-1927). 4 3/8" L. Provenance: The collection of Gary Glesser of Loudon, Tennessee, by descent from his grandparents, Captain Hoyt and Rachel Holton of Toledo, Ohio. Hoyt Holton became, at age 17, the youngest captain of a Great Lakes Freighter. In the 1960s, Captain Holton participated in a 26-day Admiral Byrd Society trip replicating the explorer's famous transpolar expedition, during which he met the Pope and Soviet Premier Nikita Kruschev. Many items in the collection were brought back as souvenirs from that journey and other frequent voyages.

1st item: Overall good condition with overall expected general light use wear. 2nd item: Some bending to one side of rim, overall light general wear. 3rd-4th items: Overall good condition. 5th-8th items: All overall good condition with light expected wear. 9th-14th items: Three (3) spoons with losses to enamel on the back of the bowl.
