This copy carries the author's personal library stamp and additional provenance as being from the Steinbeck collection with the signature of Thomas M. Steinbeck who has penned on the title page "from the collection of John Steinbeck / Thomas Steinbeck. There were four different bindings used for this first edition, this copy fits the description of variant 4. Goldstone-Payne A27.a.

Condition

Jacket with minuscule chips and tears at spine ends and edges, a few patches of rubbing/abrasion; slight bump at head of spine, mild soiling and staining to cloth; very good or better in very good jacket.
