Description

Huge Group (45+) of World War II Era Maps of Great Britain, Europe & America

A large group of topographical and aeronautical maps of America, Great Britain, and Europe from the Second World War. Ranging in variety from training maps, radar plotting charts, and geographical surveys. The majority are of areas of Great Britain and its coastline, with additional German Maps (including details of German cities), and a few maps of sections of the United States. Most are large, measuring 47" x 31.75", with only a few smaller sheets. A number of maps are undated but can be placed during the war due to publication by the War Office or are marked "R.A.F. (War)". Most of the maps used by British land and air forces were made by the Geographical Section, General Staff (GSGS). All maps have been folded, thus have varying degrees of creasing. Most with light toning or soiling. A few of the maps have dampstaining and mildew damage. One or two maps with tears or paper loss. Viewings in the office of the maps for further details or condition may be scheduled for qualified bidders.
