Names are punch cancelled and a red cancelled stamp has been applied. Signed by Henry H Clement (?) on back. Has a blue double circle Martin White Mining Company stamp on front. Ward MD. Although this seems like a mysterious stock certificate from a mysterious mine, we can probably imagine what happened. Ward started to really bustle in 1875. In that year the Martin White Mining Company bought up all of the claims - at least the major ones. In early 1876 along comes another claim with all of the stock owned by a single person. One cannot help be suspect that the Martin White Company bought this mining claim also by purchasing all of the stock for some price.
