Egyptian, Late Period 664-332 B.C..Light green faience. H. 5.5 cmSo-called New Year's flask in the shape of a pilgrim bottle with a round, curved body and cylindrical spout flanked by two sitting monkeys, which are missing today. Main side engraved with collar around neck. Below square field with feather pattern and central vertical inscription line: "May open the god (...) a good new year for its owner". Lotus flower shaped lip and flanking monkeys missing.Collection Carl Leonhard Burckhardt (1902-1965).
