Pre-Columbian, Peru, Inca Empire, Pre-Conquest Period, ca. 13th to early 16th century CE; Post-Conquest Period, ca. mid-16th to 17th century CE. A fine ensemble of 3 sturdy tools made during the Pre- and Post-Conquest periods of the Inca Empire. First is a pair of forged-copper choppers with thick handles, rounded blade heads with teardrop-shaped profiles, and curved upper points with pointed tips. The petite petaloid blade head is forged from bronze and is from the Post-Conquest period, with a slender tang that gradually widens to form a curved edge. Fine patina covers each tool in brown and green hues. Size of largest: 9.125" L x 3.875" W (23.2 cm x 9.8 cm); (display case): 12.25" L x 8.3" W (31.1 cm x 21.1 cm)

Provenance: private Fayetteville, Arkansas, USA collection; ex-Dr. David Harner collection, Springdale, Arkansas, USA, acquired between the 1950s and 1960s

All pieces have minor abrasions and encrustations, with slight bending to overall forms, and minute nicks to blade edges, otherwise intact and very good. Great patina throughout. All are displayed within a Riker case.
