**First Time At Auction**
Ancient Egypt, New Kingdom, 20th Dynasty, reign of Rameses IX, ca. 1129 to 1111 BCE. A fine hand-carved terracotta seal mold with a round presentation and orange color depicting the cartouche of the Pharaoh Rameses IX (also Ramesses IX, Ramses IX, Neferkare Rameses, or Neferkare Setepenre which translates to "Beautiful is the Soul of Re, Chosen of Re"). The seal is ovoid in form with rounded sides, a planar bottom, and a recessed cavity with six hieroglyphic symbols in low relief. Custom museum-quality display stand and blue putty imprint included. Size (seal mold): 1.25" W x 1.55" H (3.2 cm x 3.9 cm); 3.375" H (8.6 cm) on included custom stand.
Provenance: private east coast of Florida, USA collection; ex-old French collection, Paris, France, acquired 1977 to 1987

Condition
Surface wear and abrasions commensurate with age, minor fading to raised hieroglyphs, and some very minor nicks to peripheries and verso, otherwise intact and very good. Light earthen deposits throughout. Old inventory number written in black ink along verso.
