This jug of a seated Winston Churchill smoking and enjoying a Cigar has been one of their most popular since the 1940’s Throughout WWII Churchill was an important and unifying figure and that popularity has remained to a large extent The original was modeled by Henry Fenton in 1940 and Royal Doulton produced several versions and sizes for more than 50 years Unfortunately Royal Doulton no longer creates jugs and mugs like this the last one designed and created was in 2011 and production was stopped on previous designs as well Royal Doulton has made collectible jugs and mugs with different characters since the 1800’s but production really took off in the early 20th century. You can find characters from Shakespeare like Falstaff, characters from Dickens like Scrooge, and historical figures like Henry VIII and Winston Churchill as seen in Netflix series Peaky Blinders dimensions 5 3/4” H Churchill is seated and dressed as he is in most photographs in a black suit, blue vest and bow tie, white shirt, beige overcoat and black hat.
