[CIVIL WAR]. A group of  6 CDVs of unidentified Navy officers, comprising:
Oval portrait of a mate or acting ensign signed on verso in period ink "F.K. Middleton." Memphis, TN: H.A. Balch, n.d. Frank Middleton joined the navy as Mate, 3/16/1863, Acting Ensign 6/18/1864, Resigned 6/5/1865. Â -- A standing portrait of a lanky officer with sword and "third assistant engineer" penciled on verso. No imprint. -- View of an ensign (1862) standing with sword. New York: Chas. K. Bill, n.d. -- An ensign having single cuff stripe (1862). Boston: Heard & Moshley. -- A superior studio view of a cocky warrant officer with goatee standing with sword. The uniform coat having single star on cuff and what would be narrow, borderless gold shoulder straps based on 1864 regulations. Detroit, MI: G. Grelling, n.d. Â Cancelled blue-green 3-cent revenue stamp on verso. -- A seated mustachioed assistant paymaster presenting the details of his undress cap to the camera. Boston: Allen, n.d.
Together, 6 CDVs, 2 1/4 x 3 1/2 in. or smaller on cardstock mounts. Condition generally good, many with dented corners and moderate wear consistent with age.
