Lot Essay:
An 'houngan' immersed in Vodou practice, St Brice befriended the American artist Alex John engaging with his abstract expressionism to create spiritual paintings of energy, 'lwas' (spirits) and transformation scenes. Included in the Milwaukee Art Museum permanent collection, St. Brice's art was recently, 2018, exhibited at the 1-54 Contemporary African Art Fair in London.
