Description
A Tairona Gold Enthroned Figure Colombia, c. 700-1400 AD Cast gold alloy (tumbaga) in form of a transformation figure seated on a bird-head throne. The figure has a large frog head, human body with both male and female parts, it wears a braided collar and leg bands, and a semicircular headdress. Large spiral earring through ears. Loops for attachments at base of headdress, nose on head and beak of bird throne. A suspension loop at back. In excellent condition. Provenance: An estate of a private collector, Oklahoma City, OK Ex-collection of Tania Pacheco Garcia, Spain and Colombia Height: 3 ¼ inches
